Doing HRT Right

There’s an old saying, “you get what you pay for”. Never have these words rang more true than when referring to Andrologix.com. They’re an HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) clinic that “gets it” and understands the athlete. If you’ve been thinking about HRT and interested in doing it right, this article will certainly be worth your time.

WHY HRT?

Male HRT is now (finally) an accepted medical condition referred to as “andropause”. The stark reality is that around age 30 your hormone levels start declining, in some of us more precipitously than others. Contributing factors include poor sleep, diet or the big one in my case – stress. Normal values for total test are 280 – 1000ng/dl (they’ve been adjusted downward over the years). So if you’re starting in the low end of the range you can see what a 30% boost (OTC avg.) really means: not much.

PICKING THE RIGHT DR.

I was talking one day to one of my Blueprint Bulletin subscribers and he was talking about a place called Andrologix.com. It turns out he was a patient and relayed his experience to me. At one point in time he was seeing a Dr. who had him on 80mg of test/week. Not enough to improve his quality of life, but enough to suppress him. He then visited his local office (they have them across the country) for a consultation. As luck would have it, his total testosterone was in the neighborhood of 150. Normal values are 280 – 1000ng/dl. And those have been adjusted downward over the years.

MEETING WITH THE DR.

Upon reviewing his bloodwork, the Dr. got down to business. Lest you think this is some fly by night operation, the truth is they have been in business for 16 years. They also took great care to monitor my friends health. Blood work was ordered regularly, and the health of their patients are their top priority.

THE RABBIT HOLE GOES DEEPER

Did I mention they also carry a full suite of adjunct products? They carry injectable B-Vitamins and vitamin C to combat homocysteine, along with injectable glutamine to treat various conditions. In the event you’d like to come off, they offer the proper Post Cycle Therapy drugs.

INSURANCE

I mentioned at the beginning of this piece that you get what you pay for. As a general rule, your insurance isn’t going to cover HRT like this. That being said, a nationwide provider, administering androgens in a very professional/responsible fashion is worth every penny. Your health is their top priority, and the dosages are obviously health enough to make an impact.

I’ll close with a quote that I think perfectly summarizes Andrologix:
“Whenever you see a successful business, someone once made a courageous decision.”
― Peter F. Drucker
